Primary Paxton Families

The intention of this page is to track the known "separate" (as far as we know for now) families by the name of Paxton, in the Borders Region.
For facilitating the separation, we'll use the timeframe of about 1750 for identifying the separate families.

We currently know of two Paxton families, whose connection is not yet determined.  (Determining their connection is one of the goals of the project).

They are:
  • William Paxton, b 1731, Tweedmouth.  Parents unknown
    • Married 30 Jun 1751 to Isabel Archibald, b 1733 daughter of Robert Archbold and Elizabeth Selby, Tweedmouth.

  • Hew Paxton, b 12 Sept 1675, Abbotshall, Fife, Scotland.  Parents Hew Paxton and Margaret Staige
    • Married 15 Jun 1697 to Christian Tosh, b about 1672, Dundee.
    • Notation: Hew Paxton (1)
